Welcome to Winman Athletics!!

We are proud to offer several competitive interscholastic sports for grades 6 through 8.  All athletes, on any team, MUST be registered online through the Warwick School Department, AND must have all needed paperwork completed and turned in prior to trying out.

There are three seasons of sports:
  • Fall – Boys and Girls Soccer and Boys and Girls Cross Country.  Length of season – start of school until the end of October.
  • Winter – Boys and Girls Wrestling and Boys and Girls Basketball.  Length of season – mid November until the beginning of February.
  • Spring – Boys and Girls Outdoor Track, Boys – Baseball, Girls- Softball and Boys and Girls Tennis. Length of season – mid March through mid May
***  Some of these sports have a limit on the size of the team, so they have try outs and cuts; Others have no limit..(Cross Country and Track)
Any questions, please do not hesitate to see Mr. Norm Bouthillier, BLDG Athletic Supervisor.

To get started with an athletic activity

There are few steps necessary in order to participate in sports at Winman.

Step 1 Is to register on the WPS website under athletics.  The initial set up requires background information, BUT after that, all you need to do is log in and check off the sport for that season. This must be done before each season.
Step 2   Is to make sure a valid and up-to-date (no more than 13 months old) PHYSICAL is on file with the Winman nurse’s office. No special form needed; just a valid physical from the doctor’s office.
Step 3 Is to make sure an ASSUMPTION of RISK form is on file with the nurse’s office. This form MUST be filled out and have a notary seal. Form is on the WPS athletic site or click here.
Things to remember
A – Grades: ALL students participating in sports MUST maintain their grades.  Two or more failures will keep you from playing a sport.
B – All uniforms and equipment MUST be returned to your COACH at the end of your season.
C – All athletes, by signing up online, are required to obey the code of conduct rules. It is the athlete’s responsibility to know this.
